Pecan Pralines

    In a saucepan, combine the white sugar, brown sugar, butter, and evaporated milk.

    Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches the soft ball stage (a drop forms a soft ball in cold water).

    Remove from heat and add the vanilla and pecans.

  4. 4

    Beat by stirring until the mixture begins to thicken.

  5. 5

    Drop by spoonsful onto waxed paper.

  6. 6

    Allow pralines to cool and set.

  7. 7

    Makes 24–30 pralines.
