Cracker Custard

    Prepare crackers and butter sandwiches using all crackers.

    In saucepan, combine milk and heat over low temperature.

    In bowl, mix eggs, sugar, and flour until smooth.

    Add enough heated milk to egg mixture to make a liquid batter; add vanilla.

    When milk is hot but not scalding, stir in egg mixture.

  6. 6

    Stir constantly until custard thickens; remove from heat.

  7. 7

    In deep dish, place layer of cracker sandwiches.

  8. 8

    Spoon custard over crackers and cover.

  9. 9

    Continue layering until all crackers are used.

  10. 10

    Yield: about 20 servings.
