Chicken Sausage Gumbo

    Sauté seasoning blend and onion in a few tablespoons of oil until translucent.

    Add chicken broth and fill empty carton with water; add to pot.

    Bring to a boil and add roux, stirring until dissolved.

    Season with garlic, Creole seasoning, onion powder, and salt to taste.

    Cook 20 minutes on medium heat, stirring to prevent sticking.

    Add chicken and sausage; cook 45 minutes until done.

  7. 7

    Serve over rice with mashed potatoes if desired.

    Add filé to bowl if desired.
