Natchitoches Meat Pies

Ingredients

  • Filling

  • Crust

Directions

    Sauté green onions in skillet in a small amount of shortening.

    Remove from heat and add diced roast and enough gravy to make a smooth consistency.

  3. 3

    Add pepper and salt.

  4. 4

    Sift flour and cut shortening into flour.

  5. 5

    Add beaten egg and milk.

  6. 6

    Roll out small amounts of dough into a circle for each pie.

  7. 7

    Place about 1 heaping tablespoon of filling to one side of pastry, fold top over meat and crimp with fork.

    Fry in Crisco for best results.
