Cabbage Casserole

    Cut cabbage into pieces and boil in salted water until tender but still green.

    Drain, reserving liquid.

    Melt butter or oleo in a deep skillet and fry meat with onions, garlic, and seasoning until browned.

    Mix cabbage with meat, then add sauce, green onion tops, and cooked rice.

    Pour into a greased baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.

    Bake at 300°F for 20–30 minutes.

    If mixture looks too dry before baking, add some reserved cabbage liquid.
